How Quickly They Grow...

I feel like Tyler has made some developmental leaps in the last few weeks and every time they surprise me! I can't believe how big he's getting. He definitely has his goofy moments though and I've been trying to pull out the camera more to capture them. Here are a couple from the last little while...

One of his favorite things right now is to sit at his little table and color. I think it makes him feel like a big kid and for all of you moms out there, twistable crayons are the bomb!! This is his "Mom, I need you to come help me with something" face.

And for old times sake:

Last Saturday we went to the BYU men's volleyball game. It brought back such memories and it was so fun to be there with almost all of the Manning gang again. Tyler did so well the whole time even though it was a late night and even though our team lost. I guess we're not good luck after all! :)

This Season's Favorites

I've been so excited that my favorite shows are finally starting up again! I've probably been watching a little too much tv on account of it...ok, so probably a lot too much... Here's a few of my faves at the moment:

Burn Notice
USA Network

Michael Weston brings me back to our Pretender days when he played the evil brother of the genius Jarod. He's even better in Burn Notice. I love the way this show is written and that I have yet to see any naughty scenes... the show is set in Miami so you get a lot of bikini clad busty women but I love that it's a great show and that it's relatively clean.

The Big Bang Theory
CBS

Still in reruns but if you haven't watched this show yet, you are seriously missing out on some funny! Like The Office it can be on the dirty side but the lines they write for Sheldon CRACK ME UP!! This is our half hour of laugh time on Mondays. Too funny!

The Best Thing I Ever Ate
The Food Network

I always have to make sure I've eaten before I watch this show because it is chalk full of some yummy yummy food! Ever time I watch I cross my fingers that something featured on the show will be in the city we sell in this summer. Mouth watering I tell you!

I'm still looking forward to the start of a few others (Drop Dead Diva and V specifically) but I'm so glad there's finally something on to watch again! What are you watching these days?

Cancun 2010

Last week we spent a few blissful days on the APX trip to Cancun, Mexico. The warm weather was amazing, the food was great and the hotel was fantastic. In spite of all of the trouble we had getting our passports here- a story for a different post- we thoroughly enjoyed our time in the tropics. As always, I wish I had gotten more photos but here's a little glimpse into our stay:

Here's the view from our hotel balcony. In the bottom third is the dolphin tank where they have 5 dolphins and everyday they had people swimming and doing shows with them. It was so fun to watch and Tyler had a blast talking to all the seagulls waiting for a stray snack.

Tyler's favorite spot in our room was this ledge leading to the balcony door. He was always trying to make a break for it to squeeze in all the time he could outside.

The first full day we were there we took a walk around the hotel. It was cute watching Tyler walk up and down the pathway. He really couldn't get enough of feeling like a big kid out for a stroll.

This lighthouse was just off the hotel's portion of the beach. I thought it was so cool.

While Tyler loved walking around and swimming in the pool, he was not a fan of the beach. I think all the new textures freaked him out and the waves coming right at him didn't help much. He got so mad when the sand stuck to him. He kept pointing to it asking to have someone get it off. Maybe next time he'll warm up to the ocean a little bit more.

Swimming in the swimming pool was by far his favorite part of the trip I think. He loved splashing and swimming around with Dad. The expressions on his face were priceless.

Alas, all good things must come to an end and we were forced to get on our plane and head home to the snow and cold. While I love being home, it was pretty depressing when we landed in SLC and saw how overcast and snowy it was. I guess we'll just have to start planning another vacation! :)
