So, I debated whether or not to post this announcement quite yet, but figured that pretty much everyone who reads our blog has already found out that yes, WE'RE PREGNANT! We're not ready to announce it at church or anything but thought all of our close family and friends should know. I'm not sure how far along I am yet or when my due date is because I haven't been to see an OB. (So if any of you have any recommendations for good ones, please let me know asap!) I'm pretty sure it will be somewhere around late September or early October judging from when I started to feel sick. On that note, if any of you read my last post, you'll remember that I was pretty upset about being sick and that I wanted to track down whoever brought it on the cruise with them and throw them overboard... Needless to say I'm not upset about being sick anymore and when I got to thinkin' I realized I would have had to throw Gordon overboard! :) That wouldn't have been pretty! The other reason I decided to announce it on our blog is because I was reading some stuff today on treatments for morning sickness and read that sympathy, support, and suggestions from other women can do wonders. So if any of you awesome moms out there have any suggestions as to what helped you through morning sickness or pregnancy in general, I'm all ears! All-in-all, we're thrilled to have the opportunity to be parents and are so grateful for this amazing blessing in our lives!! It's a big step but one that we've looked forward to for a long time. It's pretty incredible that our Heavenly Father is willing to trust us "young crazy kids" with such a huge responsibility. A big thanks to everyone for sharing in our excitement! We love you all!

Love the header! I hope the sick part goes away soon. Hang in there and enjoy the ride and when you feel really sick just remind yourself how badly you wanted this! :) Be sure to get lots of rest. My advice would be to make sure that Gordon knows that you might act a little crazy and emotional and he should be prepared to get you whatever you want!!
Congrats again! It will get better before it gets worse, and then it just gets worse. So I guess get all the rest you can right now and try to help your husband understand what's happening to your body. It helps if you read to him some of the stuff out of the pregnancy books.
Ahhhhh!! Im so excited!! I'm so darn happy for you guys. You are so funny-Im glad you did'nt throw Gordon overboard. That would have been really sad. hehe. We love you guys-you are great friends-and if there's anything you need we are here for you!!
Trisha,
Okay, so I blogg-hopped from Kade and Ciara's blog and read your great news. (I hope you don't mind.) Anyway... Congratulations! This is a miserably wonderful time of your life. I say that because I know how miserable it can be to feel sick and tired all of the time, but more importantly how wonderful and exciting it is. Anyone who uses the term morning sickness is full of it....more like all day and night sickness. Anyway, a few suggestions: Saltines, Ginger-ale (the real stuff) preggy pops (something hard to suck on), peppermint tea, eating small, frequent meals, lots of rest, patience on your husbands part, and endurance on yours. Remember this too shall pass and the reward at the end of your great sacrifice is soooooo worth it! Good Luck!
Tricia-
I hope you don't mind me peeking at our blog too (Nancy also told me the news). I'm so happy for you! Sorry about the sickness! I get it way bad and I don't start feeling better until around 25 weeks (hope it's not that long for you!) Anyway, I found that lemon drops and peppermint candies really helped me. I also lived on Dr. Pepper with this last pregnancy. Good luck and remember that the sickness is a good sign (although I could never really understand how that actually helps).

Woohoo!!! Congratulations. Hmmm...morning sickness. Isn't it fun? I ate toast, soup, cream of wheat, crackers, ginger ale. Took some pill concoction my doctor made up called Pyrodox. Napping helped because you are asleep and don't focus on feeling sick for that little time. And I always felt better when I actually let myself throw up.
I loooove my OB, but it depends on what your personality needs. He's very straight forward and a "let's get it done" kind of guy. So am I. We got along great, but if you like a little more nurturing and tenderness you probably won't like him. His name is Dr. Gourley at Utah Valley. #357-7190
Good luck and let us know when you find out the due date.
Also, when is one of your paintings going to be "painting of the week"?
Love Dr. Gourley myself. He delivered Lexanne and by far he has been the best out of all 5 of my deliveries. I've had someone different each time.
I must say that I was blog hopping the other day and got to yours and was reading about the cruise. My first thought was you were pregnant. Then my mom calls yesterday with all sorts of family updates and says that you are pregnant. Had to laugh and then pat myself on the back for figuring that one out. Congrats!! Hard to believe it, but congrats!
