Hey all you book readers out there! If you haven't read on Annette's blog yet, we're starting a book club! We'd love to have anyone who wants to join!
How it works:
1. One book is chosen every month.
2. Check out the blog (ldsbookshelf.blogspot.com) to find out what book we're reading that month.
3. Pick it up at your local book store or order it online and read it during that month.
4. After the month is over, post your comments, ideas, thoughts and any insight you may have had while reading the book.
So far Annette and I are the only two I know of that are reading the book for January (Left to Tell by Immaculee Ilibagiza) and let me tell you IT IS ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! And if you're not one that likes the pressure of a book club to read the book for that month, don't worry. We figure if we do a blog book club, then you can just check the blog, read the description of the book, decide if you want to read it and post or just wait until the next book that sounds interesting. We would love any suggestions anyone has for great books that inspire, educate or are just down-right fun to read. Besides, as Annette and I have started reading the same books it's been a real treat to hear her take on things and what she thought of the book. It's forced me to have an intelligent conversation about literature and read at least one good book every month. Can't go wrong there! But we would love to hear all of your thoughts on the great books out there. Hope to see you there! The more the merrier!

I finished Left to Tell and am waiting to review it on my blog until the end of the month but I LOVED it and cried through a lot of it. I think it should be required reading!

Is it too late to join? I have totally wanted to be involved with something like this and even thought about starting one up of my own but I think I may just join yours if that's okay. Thanks!

Of course! We would love to have you! The book for this month is The Thirteenth Tale. I just started and it's a little on the strange side but really well written. I'm so excited to have another reader!:)
